The Colorado Advanced League offers the best competition for Roaring Fork United teams in the State. The league offers eight division levels: Premier 1, Premier 2, Premier 3, Elite, Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze. Teams in this league are single birth year teams, which keeps the age gap between players smaller than the age gap of players on teams in the Mountain Region League or the 10u All-Valley League.
Travel for games will be required. Teams in the CSA Advanced League can be based anywhere from Cheyenne, WY to Pueblo, CO. Each team typically plays four home games and four away games. - the amount of travel required will depend upon the other teams registered in the division/bracket. The Club does its best to create schedules for these teams that minimize travel as much as possible, but travel to the front range will be inevitable. This league requires more
commitment and dedication from players, coaches and teams than is required for MRL or All- Valley League teams.
Commitment: Trainings for advanced league teams will occur two or three times per week, between 3pm and 8pm for 1.5 - 2 hour sessions; exact practice days and times will be determined by each team's coach. Advanced League requires commitment to play and practice. Two season (fall and spring) registration and commitment is required. Some teams have larger rosters than can play at games so effort and attendance if considered when Coaches make game day selections.
Locations: Practices for Advanced League Teams will take place in Crown Mountain Park (El Jebel), River Valley Ranch or Hendricks Park (Carbondale), or at Gates Park (Glenwood Springs) on age-appropriate fields. Home games for Advanced League teams will be scheduled at Crown Mountain Park.
Duration: 2-3 training sessions per week for 10-12 weeks per season. Games are on Saturdays; make up or rescheduled game may be scheduled on Sundays.
Practice Days/Times: 2-3 days a week determined by the coach. Practice length will also be determined by the coach or coaches.
- If you would like to be involved with coaching or managing a team at this age-group, please consider registering yourself as a coach or team manager when registering you player.
- We offer free coach training sessions and provide weekly curriculum.
Team Size: 11U/12U team size is 12-14, 13U-15U team size is 14-18 players, 17U-19U team size is 18-22 players.
Team Formation: All players will be assigned to groups based on their birth year. Player's moving from MRL to Advanced League may not be placed on the team with the same coach or teammates. Player's already in Advanced League may also change rosters. Team selections are made based on our Player Placement Policy (see link below) and are created to allow all interested Advanced League players to play at an appropriate level.
Game Formats: 11U-12U will play 9v9 (8 players and a goalkeeper), 13U-19U will play 11v11 (10 players and a goalkeeper) on the field during their games.
Registration Process: a two-step registration process has been implemented for players interested in participating in Advanced League teams.
Step One: Interested players are invited to register their intent for playing in the advanced league for their age group. Player evaluations are used to place players on appropriate teams.
- Evaluations are completed by coaches at the end of each season. They can also be completed by DOCs during other playing opportunities (tournaments, summer camps, team training sessions, etc.).
- Once a player has been placed on a team, the player will receive an email officially offering a spot on a team.
Step Two: Players can accept or decline the spot they have been offered through their PlayMetrics account. Upon acceptance of the spot on a team and completion of the additional registration information, an invoice will be generated for the registration and payment can made. Registration is not complete until a payment has been made or a payment plan has been activated.
